The fourth and sixth Sustainable Development Goals—assuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting opportunities for lifelong learning for all—were established by the United Nations in 2015.

The most crucial aspect of our child's life is school. It teaches children significant lessons in terms of knowledge, growth, and development. The school teaches students how to be sociable and engaging with others. It also teaches them about becoming responsible citizens. Affording adequate water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) facilities in schools 'improves access to education and learning outcomes, particularly for girls, by creating a safe, inclusive, and equitable learning environment for all.'


Objectives :

  • To ensure child & gender friendly School WASH infrastructure facilities for the govt. schools and Anaganwadies within the selected core villages.

  • To strengthen hygiene practices among the children, promoting Child cabinets and imparting necessary training to the groups s well Mid-day meal workers.

  • Strengthen SDMC’s to Ensure O&M through community participation for 6/7 hard cleaning in the schools. 20% local contribution mobilisation for the infrastructure. 

  • To use a high impact innovative IEC and BCC materials for school WASH activities

  • Formation and strengthening the Child cabinets.

Operational Areas :

  • During the fiscal year 2022-23, SEARCH covered three villages in Voletivaripalem Mandal, one in Kandukuru Mandal of SPSR Nellore, and one in Zarugumalli Mandal of Andhra Pradesh's Prakasam district.
