Promotion of FPOs
Objective:
The main objective of FPO is to ensure better income for the producers through an organization of their own. Small producers do not have the volume individually (both inputs and produce) to get the benefit of economies of scale.
Role:
The members of FPOs are smallholder farmers who organize themselves with the objective of improving farm income through improved production, marketing, and local processing activities.
Operational Areas:
SEARCH has been Empanelled as Cluster Based Business Organization by three major implementing agencies viz., NABARD, NCDC and TRIFED.
Covered 212 village in 32 mandal in 11 District of Andhra Pradesh.
Our Interventions:
- Handholding supporting to FPOs on members mobilization, formation and Registration of FPO/MACS.
- Capacity building training and Exposure visits to the Board of Directors and CEOs.
- Linkages with Government Departments/Financial Instructions.
- Preparation of Business plans and create marketing linkages.
- Support to documentation process.
