Restoration of Common Lands
Goal:
- Securing the common lands by communities for improved livelihoods and natural resources
Objectives:
- Management & Protection of Soil, water, Grass, Food, and Social aspects by providing capacity building to Village institution
- Developing plant population & create water harvesting structures through Liasoning with concern govt.departments and as well as project .
- Create healthy Eco systems related Bio-Diversity and Natural resources (Soil, Water, Plant) through adapting designed measurements by VI
- To create bridge between Government departments and Village Institution for Owning and management of their common lands by Village Institution.
Major Achievements:
- Under commons program totally covered 71 villages and identify area were 22414 ha in both districts, 18202 ha in 55 villages of Prakasam and 4212 ha area covered in 16 villages of Nellore district.
- UVAS committees formed in 61 villages with 915 representatives and PRA exercise was also done.
- Seed bolls sowings completed in 4500 ha of commons in 18 villages of Prakasam and Nellore districts
- Organized 48 village level stake holder meetings/trainings covered all UVASs in both districts, totally 1680 (men-1040,women -640) participants attended to these trainings.GP representatives, sachivalayam staff, Progress farmers and UVAS leaders attended to these event.
- Organized 25 Mandal level stake holders Trainings covered all mandal level stake holders i.e. MRO, MDO, APO, MPP, ZPTC, AOs, EORDs, DTs, TAs, FAs, PSs, VROs and UVAS leaders attended to these trainings in 25 mandals. Totally 1526 members attended and discuss on Restoration of Commons and protection and owning by the community.
- Organized 2 Divisional level stake holders’ trainings at kandukur of Nellore district and Kanigiri of Prakasam District. For this APD DWMA, ADA, ADHO, MROs, MDOs and UVAS leaders attended nearly 120 members to these programs.
